Valen the Outcast

I've been looking forward to uploading this piece. Valen the Outcast is one of my favourite comic book series and I feel both writer and artist created an enjoyable fantasy romp which really pushed the sequential art medium forward. (I know that sounds pretentious but check out the series and see what you think.) The series introduced me to the work of The energy he is able to convey in his action sequences is incredible.

I also drew this as a change and challenge from drawing women which I am better at and better known for. I was fairly pleased with the results on Valen but you can be the judge of my success depicting this undead warrior king. You'll notice I've attempted to distract you from Valen by placing his love interest Zjanna in front of him

Did you notice the tender moment of the lovers hands touching? (Ahhh) I wanted to evoke some of the sadness of the story, over-shadowed by the looming threat of the Necromancer, Korrus Null...
